Dear John Letters On The Way
I just recently returned from my family vacation this past weekend from Kennebunk, Maine. It was planned out this past spring so that we all could enjoy some breath taking fall foliage and cooler weather.
Boy, what a quaint New England town. Plenty of pumpkins, bird watching off the coast, and molting old oak tree's mounted perfectly along the sides of the weathered backroads. What we didn't expect was the Kennebunk gossip while taking a stroll into town almost every day to enjoy some good ol' seafood, visiting the local businesses and gift shops, and I might add a nice "treat myself" massage. We heard gossip everywhere we went!
The locals are really chatting it up, and mainely (haha) the women! This really isn't a laughing matter in all honesty. I heard all kinds of stories from women in the area that the local doctors and lawyers phones have been ringing off the hook and for good reason!
Apparently, for "supposedly" some financially intelligent businessmen, they are a bunch of dummies! Some of these men are most likely so arrogant, they probably did not think they would ever get caught in a soon to be Lifetime movie about a Zumba instructor running a prostitution operation in a small New England town where money talks and old school rules apply.
Money obviously buys sex (no pun intended), but most likely not in the case of keeping the "Johns" name hush hush in the community. Honestly, I feel it's about time that money can't buy respect! Many of these wives in the area have been sweating bullets from what I was told, hoping and praying that their "Dear John" won't be receiving a letter from them personally.
It's not all about running to the lawyers and filing for divorce and getting the summer home, the BMW, financial investments, and the fancy family Poodle, it's about embarrassment and family pride! I feel for the women, children and families that will soon be affected. Hopefully, any soon to be movies will keep this in mind!
